The Minaret of Jam was registered as a cultural heritage of the Islamic world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in its newsletter that the ICESCO Cultural Committee (ICESCO) has accepted the proposal of the Government of Afghanistan to include the Jam Minaret in the list of cultural heritage of this organization during its third extraordinary meeting.
The ICESCO Cultural Committee has accepted 22 cultural works from Palestine, Afghanistan, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Morocco.
The Minaret of the Jam was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2002 and is the first work to be included in the List of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World.
The State Department said. “This important achievement is of great importance for strengthening the national image, preserving and restoring the country’s cultural monuments at the international level, and strengthening the government’s policy in the field of cultural diplomacy,”
