A 5 days polio vaccination campaign launched by Ministry of Public Health.

The five-day campaign, launched by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Public Health, is expected to vaccinate 9.9 million children under the age of five in the country.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are the only countries where polio has not yet been completely eradicated

In 2019, a total of 29 positive cases of polio were recorded in Afghanistan, but this number has increased by 56 positive cases in 2020, which is the highest number since 2001, and most of these events were in insecure provinces of Afghanistan.
