The Afghan national team won seven medals in the international online taekwondo-pumice competition
The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports has announced that the taekwondo practitioners of Afghanistan’s Pumice Division have won seven medals in an international taekwondo competition that was held in a virtual way.
In these competitions, Mohammad Idris Ghazizadeh and Seyed Rostam Akbari won gold and silver medals, respectively, and also Seyed Zarif Hashemi, Somayeh Adel Niazi, Anzurat Vali, Abdulmouz Ahmad Salek and Sardar Agha each won bronze medals.
It is noteworthy that twenty-two taekwondo fighters from Afghanistan in different age categories participated in these competitions, and only 7 people won medals.
This is the first time that Puma athletes from the Afghan National Taekwondo Federation have won medals at an international virtual sports event.
These competitions were held from January 26 to 27 with the participation of athletes from 30 countries and hosted by Nepal.
