8 police killed in Taliban attack in Balkh province

8 police killed in an attack by Taliban militants on the police station in Nahri Shahi district of Balkh province in northern Afghanistan.

Adelshah Adeel, spokesperson of the Balkh Police Department said that the militants carried out an armed attack on the police station in Shahrak Turkmeniye village of Nahri Shahi district.

Stating that 8 police officers were killed and 4 were injured in the attack, Adeel said that in the clash that followed the attack, 5 militants were killed and 7 were injured.

In the statement made by the Taliban, it was claimed that 12 soldiers were killed in the attack.
