2 gold medals & 6 bronze medals achieved by the national taekwondo team
The Afghan taekwondo national team is returning to the country today after successfully winning the Asian Championships and the Lebanese Open.
In the Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Lebanon, Afghan athletes won 2 gold and 6 bronze medals.
According to the announcement of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, on the first day of these competitions, Mohsen Rezaei won a gold medal in the weight of 58 kg and Hekmatollah Zain won a bronze medal in the weight of 63 kg.
Matin Hotak won a gold medal in the parakwando category and Ali Sajjad Hamraz won a bronze medal.
Also in the pumice section, Seyed Rostam Akbari and Jalil Ahmad Salek both won bronze medals.
Farzad Mansouri and Hossein Lotfi have also won two bronze medals in the Open or G2 competitions.
14 athletes from Afghanistan had participated in these competitions in three sections.
