In the last 24 hours, the centers of 3 provinces fell to the Taliban

The centers of three provinces in the north, northeast and west of Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in the last 24 hours.

Police officials say the Taliban have captured the provincial capital of Baghlan in the north, Badhashan in the northeast and Farah in the west.

The statement added that security forces had withdrawn from the provincial capitals and that there had been casualties on both sides in clashes between government forces and Taliban fighters.

Meanwhile, Taliban fighters have also attacked Maimana, the capital of Faryab province.

With the fall of Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, the number of Taliban-controlled provincial capitals became nine.

The center of Farah in the west and Baghlan in the north came under Taliban control yesterday.
