Kabulov: Russia has decided to help Afghanistan

Russia’s special envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, told reporters that Russia had decided to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and that details would be revealed soon.

“Work is underway with several institutions and aid will be provided to Afghanistan,” he said of the timing of the aid. “A fundamental decision has been made, and the institutions are collecting the cargo.”

The United Nations, meanwhile, has called on countries committed to helping Afghanistan to mobilize to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan before winter arrives.

According to the organization, half of Afghanistan’s population is currently in need of humanitarian assistance.
