In talks with his Russian counterpart, Erdogan called for a ceasefire in Ukraine

Speaking to his Russian counterpart, the Turkish president called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Turkey was ready to help resolve the Ukraine issue immediately through peaceful means.
Erdogan stressed the importance of a ceasefire to address concerns about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, saying that a ceasefire is an opportunity to find a political solution.
Emphasizing Ankara’s efforts and consultations with all parties to establish a ceasefire and end the crisis, the Turkish president added that it was important to take immediate steps to ensure a ceasefire, open humanitarian corridors and sign a peace agreement.
