Congratulating the solar New Year, the UN Secretary-General said that Nowruz unites more than 300 million people between generations and across borders.

“Nowruz is still a celebration of our diversity,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a video message today. It unites more than 300 million people across generations and across borders. “This is a time to learn about each other, our cultures and our world.”

Today, March 21, is equal to the first day of the year 1401 AH, which is celebrated as Nowruz in most countries of the world.

In Afghanistan, this day was closed every year and people celebrated it, but after the Taliban took over, this is the first Nowruz that is not celebrated in the country after 20 years, and government offices and universities are not closed on this day.
