(UNHCR) expressed concern over the situation of women and children in Afghanistan

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has expressed concern over the situation of women and children in Afghanistan, saying they are bearing the brunt of the humanitarian crisis in the country.

“Women and children in Afghanistan are bearing the brunt of the country’s humanitarian crisis,” the organization wrote on its Twitter page.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says millions of Afghans have fled their homes to find adequate food and shelter, adding that strong support from donors is vital and that women and girls in Afghanistan should have access to rescue assistance.

However, Filippo Grande, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, has previously called for continued international support for Afghan citizens and refugees in neighboring countries.
