Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan soil: Taliban summon Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul

The Taliban’s foreign ministry has summoned Pakistan ambassador in response to Pakistan’s attacks on Khost and Kunar provinces, protesting the attacks.
Enamullah Samangani, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, tweeted that the group’s acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Mottaqi, and Deputy Defense Minister Mullah Shirin Akhand had summoned Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul, Mansour Ahmad Khan, and condemned the recent Islamabad attacks on Kunar and Khost areas.
He added that at the end of the meeting, a letter of protest was handed over to the Pakistani ambassador to deliver to his country’s officials.
Dozens of civilians, including women and children, have been killed and wounded in recent airstrikes by Pakistani forces in parts of Khost and Kunar provinces.
In response to the attacks, the Taliban said that such issues should be resolved through dialogue and that such mistakes should not be repeated by Islamabad.
