UCHA: 95% of Afghans do not have access to enough food

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has expressed concern about the situation in Afghanistan, saying that 95 percent of the population does not have access to adequate food.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a report that 95 percent of the Afghan people do not have access to adequate food, adding that millions of people in the country are facing an unprecedented food crisis and malnutrition.
“The people of Afghanistan cannot be forgotten,” it said in a report.
Earlier, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) expressed concern about the situation of women and children in Afghanistan and said that they were bearing the brunt of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
Stating that millions of Afghans have fled their homes to find adequate food and shelter, the agency added that strong support from donors is vital and that women and girls in Afghanistan should have access to rescue assistance.
