Human Rights Watch: Taliban establish religious schools but disagree with reopening of girls’ schools

The deputy director of the women’s section of Human Rights Watch said the Taliban government could raise money to build more than 4,000 schools but could not agree to reopen girls’ schools.

“Eight months after the closure, they cannot agree on the reopening of girls’ secondary schools; “But they can find the money to build 4,244 new schools.”

According to him, while 95% of the Afghan people are hungry, the Taliban have decided to establish religious schools.

Meanwhile, during a visit to Logar province, the acting head of the Taliban Ministry of Education, Noorullah Munir, announced the ministry’s decision to establish religious schools in all provinces of the country.

According to the ministry, it plans to build one large school in each province and three to 10 small schools in the districts.
