The head of the UAE government has died

The media of the United Arab Emirates have confirmed the news of the death of Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the head of the government of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi.

The UAE state news agency “Wam” has announced that 40 days of public mourning will be carried out from today (Friday) in connection with the death of Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the head of the government of that country, of which 3 days are public leave.

According to the news agency, Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, 73, died of a stroke.

Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan was the second president of the UAE since the establishment of this country in 1971, and in 2004 he took over the leadership after the death of his father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.
