The acting head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the interim Taliban government signed a five-year memorandum of understanding with Uzbekistan yesterday at a meeting to purchase vehicles for use in government offices.

Mullah Abdul Wali, acting head of the Taliban government’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, told the meeting that a five-year memorandum of understanding had been signed between the former Afghan government and the Uzbek government to purchase vehicles.

He added that a certain number of vehicles had previously been set by the previous government, but that these vehicles would be purchased according to the needs of each department.

Uzbekistan has good relations with the interim government of the Taliban, and Tashkent had previously sent a delegation to Afghanistan to rebuild Mazar-e-Sharif airfield.
