Turkey has condemned an armed attack on the deputy director of the Afghan-Turkish school in Kandahar

The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement the armed attack on the deputy director of the Afghan-Turkish private high school in Kandahar.

A statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, “We strongly condemn this treacherous attack on the head of the Turkish Education Foundation’s school, which is helping to advance education in Afghanistan, and we hope that the perpetrators will be arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.”

The ministry continued its statement by offering his condolences to the deputy of the Afghan-Turkish Kandahar Private School’s relatives and the people of Afghanistan.

Irshad Ahmad Fazli, deputy director of the Afghan-Turkish Kandahar Private High School, was shot dead by gunmen in the town of Aino Mina yesterday.

Mohammad Asef Hakimi, spokesman for the Kandahar Police Command, confirmed the incident and said that an investigation was under way into the arrest of the perpetrators.
