A gas balloon explosion in western Kabul has killed two people

Security officials in Kabul say a gas balloon exploded inside a market in the 18th district west of Kabul.

Khaled Zadran, a spokesman for the Kabul Police Command, tweeted without mentioning the casualties of the blast that the incident was caused by a gas balloon exploding inside a market.

He added that Taliban and firefighters had gone to the scene to contain the blaze.

But some witnesses say two people were killed and about 10 others were injured in the blast.

According to them, the houses around the scene were also damaged.
