Tom West spoke with the Uzbek Foreign Minister about the situation in Afghanistan

The US Special Representative for Afghanistan met with the Uzbek Foreign Minister to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press office issued a statement announcing the meeting between US Special Representative for Afghanistan Tom West and Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov in Tashkent.

According to the US Special Representative for Afghanistan, during the meeting, he highly appreciated the Uzbek leadership’s policy of reviving Afghanistan’s socio-economic infrastructure, providing humanitarian assistance, etc. to the Afghan people.

According to the statement, the two sides also stressed in the meeting that the territory of Afghanistan should not become a haven for all kinds of international terrorists and a threat to countries in the region and third countries.

During the meeting, the two sides also stressed the need to establish an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
