Mottaqi met with the Indian delegation in Kabul

The acting Taliban Foreign Minister met today with an Indian delegation that came to Kabul to monitor Indian assistance to Afghanistan.

Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi tweeted that Acting Minister Amir Khan Mottaqi met with the Indian delegation in Kabul and wrote that the two sides discussed bilateral relations between India and Afghanistan, humanitarian aid and bilateral trade relations.

During the meeting, the acting Taliban Foreign Minister praised India’s assistance to Afghanistan and called on the Indian government to resume its projects in Afghanistan.

He also called for the reopening of India’s diplomatic missions in Afghanistan and said that the Indian government should provide consular services to Afghans, especially students.

The Indian delegation also said that the Indian government wants to improve relations between the two countries and is determined to continue humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

The Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that a delegation from India had traveled to Kabul to monitor the Indian government’s assistance to Afghanistan.

The ministry said the delegation was scheduled to meet with officials from international aid agencies in Afghanistan and Taliban officials during the visit.
