Abdullah spoke to Deborah Lyons about the situation in Afghanistan

After returning to the country, Dr. Abdullah, Chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council, met with the UN Special Representative for Afghanistan.

Mr. Abdullah wrote on his Facebook page that the current situation in the country was discussed during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced the meeting and said that during the meeting the two sides discussed the importance of inclusiveness, the fight against terrorism and the key role of the region in building Afghanistan’s future.

Earlier, Dr. Abdullah, the head of the former Afghan government’s National Reconciliation Council, had traveled to India to visit his family, and later met with some of the former government’s political figures in Turkey and returned to Kabul yesterday.
