The UN Human Rights Council is holding an emergency meeting on the situation of Afghan women

The United Nations Human Rights Council has announced that it will hold an emergency meeting on the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan.
A spokesman for the Human Rights Council in Geneva told the media that the meeting would take place on July 1 during the 50th regular session of the Human Rights Council.
According to him France and the European Union, called for the meeting and in a letter to the Human Rights Council to pay serious attention to the significant deterioration of the human rights situation of women and girls in Afghanistan.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said last week that Afghan women were in a state of crisis and organized oppression.
After coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban imposed many restrictions on human rights, including women and girls.
