The European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan has emphasized the creation of a recognized government in Afghanistan in Tashkent meeting that includes all ethnic groups and women.
Thomas Nicholson, the European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan, tweeted while thanking Uzbekistan for hosting a meeting on Afghanistan, and wrote that in this meeting, he focused on creating a recognized and inclusive government in Afghanistan, where all Afghan men and women have a voice. have something to say and different political factions and ethnic and sectarian groups should be present in it, he emphasized.
He added: I emphasized the serious human rights situation reported by UNAMA, including the rights of women and girls, ethnic and sectarian groups – especially the Hazaras and Shiites – and freedom of the media.
The European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan also said that in order to address Afghanistan’s economic challenges, the Taliban must show budget transparency, ensure legal clarity and the rule of law, and take credible measures to ensure the independence and technical capacity of the central bank.
The international meeting on Afghanistan under the title “Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development” began in Tashkent today (Tuesday) with the presence of the Taliban delegation and representatives of about 20 countries and international organizations.
A delegation from Afghanistan, headed by Amir Khan Motaghi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, participated in this meeting, but the Uzbek side said that the presence of the Taliban delegation in this meeting does not mean the recognition of the regime of this group.
