Representatives of the US Senate asked the United Nations to impose a ban on foreign travel of the Taliban

Some representatives of the US Senate have asked the United Nations in a letter to impose a ban on the foreign trips of Taliban officials.

This letter has been signed by several famous American senators and they have asked the Secretary General of the United Nations to ban the foreign trips of Taliban officials, claiming that the Taliban have imposed restrictions on the people of Afghanistan.

In this letter, emphasizing that no seat of the United Nations and its affiliated institutions should be given to the Taliban, this group has been accused of violating human rights, especially women’s rights.

In the continuation of this letter, it is stated that the travel exemption granted by the United Nations to the Taliban officials did not reach the goal and this group, due to the widespread violation of human rights, must face the consequences of their repressive actions.

Previously, Haider Barr, the deputy head of the women’s division of Human Rights Watch, also emphasized in a tweet that the time has come to take more active and practical measures, including restoring the travel ban for Taliban officials.

It should be mentioned that after taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have imposed many restrictions on human rights, especially on women and girls in this country.
