Blinken accused the Taliban of hosting the leader of al-Qaeda

The US Secretary of State has accused the Taliban of hosting the leader of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and said that this group has grossly violated the Doha Agreement.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement that the Taliban have severely violated the Doha Agreement by harboring Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda.

He said: The Taliban have betrayed the people of Afghanistan and their desire to normalize relations with the international community.

Emphasizing that America will continue its actions against those who endanger the security of this country and its allies, Blinken added that the world would be safer without al-Zawahiri.

Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, was killed in a US drone attack on a residential house in Shirpur area of Kabul on Saturday.

This morning, US President Joe Biden confirmed the killing of Zawahiri in a speech and said that the order to attack him was issued a week ago and that it was carried out using a drone.
