Taliban Interior Minister went to Helmand

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Taliban has announced that the head of this ministry went to Helmand province and met with the officials there.

In the announcement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Taliban, it is stated that Sirajuddin Haqqani, acting head of this ministry, went to Helmand today in continuation of his trip to the southern provinces.

The ministry added that Haqqani will meet with local officials, district governors, security officials and ethnic elders of Helmand province during his trip.

Following the killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda in Kabul by the US, US officials have accused Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior of the Taliban, of sheltering Zawahiri in Kabul, but Haqqani has not yet responded to this accusation.
