Taliban to the United Nations: Do not use sanctions as a tool of pressure

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban has warned the United Nations not to use sanctions as a tool of pressure against this group.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Taliban’s foreign ministry, wrote in a series of tweets that the ban on the travel of officials of this group by the United Nations will create a distance between Afghanistan and the world.
He added that it was agreed at the Doha meeting that all sanctions against Taliban officials should be lifted and this clause should be fully implemented.
Previously, in a letter signed by several famous American senators, claiming that the Taliban imposed restrictions on the people of Afghanistan, they asked the Secretary General of the United Nations to ban the foreign trips of Taliban officials.
In this letter, emphasizing that no seat of the United Nations and its affiliated institutions should be given to the Taliban, this group has been accused of violating human rights, especially women’s rights.
