Josep Burrell: The Taliban have isolated Afghanistan internationally

The official of the European Union’s foreign policy said that the Taliban have denied girls and women from education and work in the past year, contrary to their promises, and have not shown any signs of moderation during this period.
Josep Borrell, the European Union foreign policy official, wrote in a recently published article that the Taliban have isolated Afghanistan internationally, and it is understandable that even Qatar and Pakistan do not recognize the government of this group.
Emphasizing that the Afghan people are paying a heavy price for this international outrage, he added that external interventions cannot create a political solution and a legitimate government in such countries, and only local forces can do this.
Mr. Burrell wrote in this article that the presence of international forces in Afghanistan was successful only in the field of fighting terrorism and removing the first government of the Taliban that had sheltered Al-Qaeda, but these forces have failed in the field of nation building.
According to him, America was present in Afghanistan for 20 years and spent more than one trillion dollars during this period, but it could not build a stable government in this country.
It should be noted that no country has recognized the Taliban government so far.
On the other hand, Afghanistan’s economic system is collapsing and millions of dollars of foreign currency reserves of this country have been blocked in international banks.
