United Nations: After the Taliban came to power, the economic situation in Afghanistan has worsened

The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations in Afghanistan says that the economic situation of this country has become extremely dire after the Taliban came to power and the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
In an interview, Ramiz Al-Kabarov, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations and the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs for Afghanistan, expressed concern about the bad situation in Afghanistan and said that the economic situation in this country has worsened after the Taliban took power in Afghanistan.
In this interview, he said that in the last year, Afghanistan experienced the most difficult economic situation.
The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations in Afghanistan added: This country is very poor. Afghan people are tired of waiting and the situation is getting worse. They have seen wars and conflicts for years. People have no savings. The banking situation is very critical. In the last four years, there have been two consecutive years of drought.
According to him, currently 19 to 20 million people in Afghanistan need urgent aid, and about 25 million people live in poverty, and this number has increased by 20 million compared to 2016.
It should be noted that after the Taliban came to power and the economic crisis in Afghanistan, during the past year, natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes have caused casualties and huge financial losses to the people of this country.
