China: It is not wise to disconnect Afghanistan from other countries

China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations has said that it is not wise to cut off Afghanistan’s connection with the international community.
Zhang Jun, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, considered it necessary to extend the exemption of 13 Taliban leaders to interact with the Afghan government and said: “It is necessary to extend the exemption for the purpose of continuing to interact with the Taliban and providing guidance for the political reconstruction of Afghanistan and cooperation with the Afghan government.”
He added: We cannot ask Afghanistan to do something and at the same time not give them any opportunity to access the international community and cut off their communication with other countries. This is not wise.
China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations asked the Taliban to pursue healthy and inclusive domestic and foreign policies, actively protect people’s livelihoods, and resolutely fight terrorism.
According to him, the humanitarian situation of tens of millions of people, including women and girls, in Afghanistan is worrying.
