Faiq: The prospect of a stable Afghanistan is currently bleak

The representative of Afghanistan in the United Nations said in the meeting of the Security Council of this organization that Afghanistan is one of the countries that has experienced the worst economic, political, social and humanitarian crises.

Nasir Ahmad Faiq, the permanent representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations, said that the prospect of a peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan is currently dark and gloomy.

He cited the ban on girls’ education and women’s work, the youth’s despair about the future, the vulnerability of ethnic groups and religions in the country, documented reports of arrests, torture and extrajudicial killings, the arrest of journalists, civil activists, women’s rights defenders and protesters as reasons that It has destroyed security and stability in Afghanistan.

Mr. Faiq added that during the past one year, when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, they have brought nothing but unemployment, poverty and migration to the people of this country.

The United Nations Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, which was held on Monday of this week, the countries emphasized on respecting human rights, fighting terrorism and creating an inclusive and healthy political structure.
