US Defense Minister: Washington is committed to the fight against terrorism

The Secretary of Defense of the United States has said that the fight against terrorism is not over and Washington has focused its attention on counterterrorism operations.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said at the anniversary ceremony of withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan that no enemy has been able to attack America since Washington sent its troops to Afghanistan in 2001 to defend itself.
He added: The fight against terrorism is not over yet and we must focus all our attention on anti-terrorism operations and we are trying to fight the roots of terrorism.
Earlier, General Kenneth McKenzie, the former commander of the Central Command of the US Army (Santgam) pointed to the killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda in Kabul, and said that it is possible that cooperation between the Taliban and al-Qaeda will force the American forces to return to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, one year has passed since the hasty withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan and the coming to power of the Taliban in this country, and during this time, the people of Afghanistan have been facing many problems.
