Heather Barr: More Taliban officials should be added to the travel ban list

The head of the women’s division of Human Rights Watch says that more officials from the Taliban group should be added to the travel ban list by the United Nations.

Heather Barr, head of Human Rights Watch, responded to the statements of the UN Secretary General about the closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan and said that the UN should put more pressure on the Taliban and add more officials from this group to the travel ban list.

In a tweet, Mrs. Barr asked the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to hold the Human Rights Council accountable in this regard and to supervise the Central Bank of Afghanistan more closely.

Antonio Guterres wrote in a tweet today that the gates of schools are still closed to female students above the sixth grade in Afghanistan and this action of the Taliban is harming this country.
