Britain donates 24 million pounds to women and children in Afghanistan

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced the UK’s £24 million grant for women and children in Afghanistan.

UNICEF said in a statement that the UK has earmarked £24 million for emergency support for women and children in Afghanistan.

This international organization added that with this amount of aid, food services will be provided to more than 1.6 million people who are affected by the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

UNICEF also said that with this amount of money, it is possible to provide safe drinking water and health awareness for more than 350,000 people and improve the nutritional status of more than 700,000 children.

According to UNICEF, 18,000 households with pregnant and lactating women will also receive cash assistance from this amount of money to meet their nutritional needs.

Before this, the Australian branch of UNICEF expressed concern about the closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan and said that 13 million children in this country need urgent help.
