OCHA: More than two million people in Afghanistan have been affected by natural disasters

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced in a report that more than 2 million 23 thousand people have been affected by floods and earthquakes in several provinces of Afghanistan.

In the report of the Ocha office published on Tuesday, it is stated that the earthquakes that occurred in June this year in Khost and Paktika provinces affected more than 85 thousand people, and more than 78 thousand and 800 people have been affected by floods in July and August at the southern and eastern regions of Afghanistan.

This international organization added that these floods, besides destroying residential buildings in most provinces of Afghanistan, also caused huge financial losses to farmers and damaged their products.

According to the OCHA report, many families affected by natural disasters have lost their homes, property and livestock, and poor families are likely to require emergency humanitarian food assistance.

It should be mentioned that this year, the residents of most provinces of Afghanistan have witnessed floods and earthquakes, which have resulted in loss of life and huge financial losses to the residents of these provinces.
