Heather Bar: Taliban are afraid of women’s voices

The deputy of the Women’s Department of Human Rights Watch has reacted to the Taliban’s ban on girls’ protests in Afghanistan and said that the Taliban are afraid of girls’ voices.
Heather Bar, deputy head of the women’s division of Human Rights Watch, wrote in a tweet that the Taliban are afraid of girls’ voices.
He wrote: “When you lock students in their dormitories to silence them, it shows how afraid you are of women’s voices.”
On Friday, there was an attack on the Kaj educational center in the west of Kabul city, as a result of which at least 49 people, mostly female students, lost their lives and many others were injured.
This attack led to protests by female students in most of the country’s provinces. According to reports, the Taliban have beaten and arrested a number of protesting girls to prevent these protests.
