A mortar shell explosion in Paktia killed two children

Local sources in Paktia say that two children died as a result of the explosion of a mortar head in this province.

These sources say that this incident happened yesterday (Friday) in Merikhel village of Zazi-Aryub district of Paktia province.

According to them, this incident happened when some children threw an unexploded mortar head into the fire.

Sources add that as a result of this incident, two children were killed and two others were injured.

It should be mentioned that three children died yesterday morning in Badghis province as a result of the explosion of explosives left over from the war.

According to local sources in Badghis province, this incident happened when children were playing with ammunition left over from past wars near an abandoned checkpoint of the previous government.
