Unknown people assassinated a doctor in Balkh

Local sources in Balkh say that a surgeon was killed by unknown people in the center of the province.

These sources say that Dr. Asadullah Shariq, a general surgery specialist, was shot dead by unknown armed men in front of his house.

According to them, this incident happened yesterday evening in Karte Salh area of the seventh security district of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the center of Balkh province.

Mohammad Asif Waziri, the spokesman of the Taliban security command in Balkh, also confirmed this incident and said that this doctor was killed by unknown people while returning to his home, and the doctor’s driver was also wounded in this incident.

However, the cause of this murder is not known yet, but Taliban officials in Balkh say that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators of this incident.
