The head of Afghanistan’s permanent mission to the United Nations says that the human rights situation in Afghanistan is extremely worrying.

Nasir Ahmad Faiq, head of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, called the situation of human rights in Afghanistan alarming at the General Assembly meeting of this organization yesterday and said that the establishment of discriminatory and systematic policies by the Taliban to limit the basic rights of women and girls is against the principles and Human rights treaties.

Mr. Faiq made these statements regarding the annual report of the Human Rights Council of this organization.

After the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, they imposed many restrictions against human rights, including the rights of women and girls.
