UNAMA expressed concern about the recent restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has expressed concern over the recent restrictions imposed by the Taliban against women and girls.

In a statement, UNAMA said that this organization is deeply concerned about the recent statements of Taliban officials and reports about preventing women from using parks, gyms and bathrooms.

UNAMA added that all rights of Afghans, especially women’s access to all aspects of life and girls’ right to education, must be respected.

It should be mentioned that the Taliban have recently banned women and girls from entering amusement parks, gymnasiums and baths in a new decree.

It should be remembered that this group has imposed many restrictions against human rights, including the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
