The World Bank called the lives of Afghan citizens difficult

The World Bank has announced that the citizens of Afghanistan have a difficult life in that country and are struggling to meet their basic food and non-food needs.
This bank said in a statement that it published the results of a survey that examined the living conditions of people in Afghanistan from June to October this year.
According to this survey, the increase in food prices and the long consequences of last year’s drought in Afghanistan have led to limited access to food and two-thirds of the population of Afghanistan have faced problems in getting food.
Melinda Goode, Director of the Afghanistan Department at the World Bank, said, “It is very worrying that we see that most Afghan families continue to face enormous economic difficulties and that access to education – especially for girls – is severely limited.”
Recently, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) said in a report that the rate of extreme poverty in Afghanistan has increased from 47% to 97% in three years.
According to this report, the poverty rate in Afghanistan has increased from 47% to 70% in 2021, and this rate has reached 97% in 2022.
In this report, decreasing income, rising food prices, drought, unemployment and natural disasters are among the causes of increasing poverty in Afghanistan.
