Measles vaccination campaign started in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health of the Taliban has announced the beginning of the vaccination campaign to prevent measles throughout Afghanistan.
Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiyathi, deputy policy and planning of the Ministry of Public Health of the Taliban, says that the vaccination campaign to prevent measles has started throughout Afghanistan, and during this campaign, about 7 million children under the age of 5 will be vaccinated.
Officials of the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health say that this campaign will continue throughout the country for ten days.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that has no cure and the only way to prevent it is to apply vaccination and observe personal and environmental hygiene. This virus, which mostly targets children, causes blindness, deafness, brain swelling, and brain damages.
