UNICEF: About 900,000 children in Afghanistan are at risk of death

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that about 900,000 children in Afghanistan are at risk of death.

UNICEF tweeted that about 900,000 children in Afghanistan are at risk of death due to food insecurity.

This institution added that these children need the help of the international community in order not to suffer from acute malnutrition.

Previously, UNICEF expressed concern about the possibility of an increase in the number of malnourished children in Afghanistan and said that 1.1 million children in Afghanistan are at risk of dying this year.

This is while poverty, unemployment and economic crisis in the country have caused the majority of families to lose the ability to buy basic food.
