UNAMA is investigating the killing of civilians by the Taliban in Daikundi

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said in a statement that it is trying to determine the facts related to the recent incident in Sayuk, Daikundi province.
UNAMA said in this announcement that there are very serious reports of civilian casualties, the illegal killing of at least 8 people, including children.
This institution added that it is in contact with the Taliban regarding the need for credible investigations and accountability in this case.
There are reports that recently the Taliban attacked 11 civilians, including women and children, injured 6 and took away 6 others in Siyuk area of Nili city, the capital of Daikundi province.
But Abdul Nafee Takour, the spokesman of the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, said that they received reports of the presence of armed people in a house in Siwak Shibar area in the center of Daikundi province and suppressed them.
