Breshna: In order to prevent the lack of electricity, Tarakhel electricity device is activated

The Afghanistan Electricity Company (Brashna) has announced that it will activate the Tarakhel thermal power plant in order to reduce the electricity shortage in Kabul and the provinces.

The company said in a statement that due to the lack of energy in that country, Uzbekistan has reduced 66% of its imported electricity to Afghanistan, which has caused a shortage of electricity in Kabul and 11 provinces of the country.

Breshna added that in order to solve this problem, it has been decided to activate the Tarakhel thermal power plant with a capacity of 60 megawatts.

It should be mentioned that Afghanistan imports nearly 70% of its electricity needs from Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and another 30% is supplied from the country’s domestic production.
