The President of Turkmenistan signed the order to continue exporting electricity to Afghanistan

According to the media of Turkmenistan, the president of this country has signed a new decree in order to implement the programs of Turkmenistan’s electricity export to foreign countries and to continue cooperation in the field of electricity between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

Within the framework of the decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, this country will continue to export electricity to Afghanistan.

Based on this decree, the State Electricity Company of Turkmenistan affiliated to the Ministry of Energy of this country, in accordance with the relevant decrees of the President of Turkmenistan, extended the terms of the contracts concluded with the Afghanistan Electricity Supply Company (Brishna).

It should be noted that Afghanistan currently supplies about 70% of its electricity needs from the countries of Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
