Salang highway was blocked for traffic due to heavy snowfall

The Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban has announced that due to heavy snowfall, the Salang highway is closed to traffic.

Officials of the Department of Public Works say that the Salang highway is blocked to traffic as a result of heavy snowfall and efforts are underway to clear this highway.

The officials of this ministry have asked the people not to travel on this route until further notice from the Salang highway maintenance officials.

According to them, efforts are underway to clear this highway and it will be opened to traffic once the intensity of snowfall decreases.

It should be mentioned that two days ago, the Afghanistan Meteorological Department warned of the possibility of heavy snowfall in 22 provinces.

This department has also warned that this weekend a cold air front will enter Afghanistan from the west and northwest and will severely affect the western, northwestern, northern, northeastern and central provinces, and most of the provinces will experience considerable cold.
