Cold weather killed 12 people in Jawzjan, Ghazni and Badghis provinces

The unprecedented cold weather in Afghanistan has led to the death of 12 people in the provinces of Badghis, Jawzjan and Ghazni.

Local sources in Jawzjan Province say that as a result of the lack of health and transportation facilities in Aqcha District of this province, two women and a child have lost their lives.

At the same time, the health officials in Ghazni also say that as a result of the cold weather in this province, 9 people have died, six of them were drug addicts.

On the other hand, Taliban officials in Badghis also report the death of 6 children, a woman and a shepherd as a result of the cold weather in some districts of this province.

According to them, these 8 people died in Balamorghab and Qadis districts of Badghis province.

It should be mentioned that last week, Afghanistan’s meteorological department warned of cold weather, heavy snowfall and frost in most provinces of Afghanistan, and as a result of these snowfalls, the roads of some provinces have been blocked for traffic.
