Electricity import from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan has been extended for another year

The Afghanistan Electricity Company has announced that the import of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan has been extended for another year.

Breshna Company wrote in a tweet that the electricity supply contract for 2023 between this company and Turkmenistan Electricity Company was extended with the presence of Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, Minister of Energy and Water of Afghanistan.

Breshna added that this contract was officially signed by Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamzah, the CEO of Afghanistan Electricity Company and also the head of Turkmenistan Electricity Company in Ashgabat.

Previously, the President of Turkmenistan had signed the Electricity Export Decree in order to implement Turkmenistan’s electricity export programs to foreign countries and continue cooperation in the field of electricity between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

Within the framework of the decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, this country will continue to export electricity to Afghanistan.
