Griffiths: The Taliban have assured that there will be a place for women to work in society

The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations says that the Taliban have assured in recent meetings with the representatives of this organization that a place will be created for women to work in the society.

Martin Griffiths, the deputy secretary general of the United Nations, said in a meeting that the Taliban leaders assured the representatives of the organization that there will be a place for women’s work in the society.

He said: “We met with a wide circle of Taliban leaders. They have constantly told us that there will be a place for women to work in society. And this is important. We will see if this will come true.”

According to the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, the ban on women’s work affects humanitarian operations and the members of this organization hope that these bans will be lifted by the Taliban.
