An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 shook Turkey and parts of Syria
Turkish media have reported the occurrence of an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 in the center of the country.
According to reports, this earthquake occurred around this morning (Monday) and shook the center of Turkey and parts of Syria.
The Geological Center of Germany announced the magnitude of this earthquake at 7.9 Richter and warned of the possibility of a tsunami.
Turkish media have reported that as a result of this earthquake, countless houses were destroyed and according to new statistics, more than 50 people lost their lives.
This earthquake was felt with lesser intensity in the countries of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and parts of Ukraine and Europe including Greece and Bulgaria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his sympathy to the victims of the earthquake in a tweet and said that all relief units are on standby in cooperation with the Turkish Disaster Management Authority.
